Armored Exo-Suits

Primary Faction(s): The Eden Empire, The Federation of Science, and the Galactic Alliance 

Powered exo-suits were used heavily by all the factions throughout the Great Eden War. Roughly 10-30% of any infantry force during the Eden War was made up of exo-troopers. These heavily armed and armored soldiers were able to take multiple direct hits from armor-piercing rounds and could even withstand explosive ordinance. The only downside to the armor is having reduced speed than your average soldier due to the weight of the suit.

Cyberbots

Primary Faction(s): The Cybers

Drones and robots have been used in war for hundreds of years. While primarily shaped like aircraft or small remote vehicles with guns and rockets, the Cyberbots are different. They are humanoid in shape and able to use a variety of weapons, carry large loads, and pilot nearly any vehicle or spacecraft.

The Cybers use these to help make up for the fact that they are significantly outnumbered by the UA. While not necessarily expensive to build, the Cybers lack the means of creating them en masse.

The Trooper Program

Phase I - Smart-Armor Trooper

Recruited at a very young age, these soldiers were immediately put through vigorous training and enhanced with cybernetics that linked the soldier to his or her gear. These troopers were a success but the Cyber threat pushed the United Authority to consider cloning for the next phase of troopers.


Phase II - Clone Nano-Trooper

Nano-troopers are the 2nd phase of the United Authority's plan to make the perfect soldier. The UA uses DNA from past war heroes, some from over 1000 years ago, to make clone soldiers. As the troopers are being grown their genes are slightly modified to make them quicker, stronger, and smarter. They are then spliced together with multiple cybernetic implants and nano-bots in their veins to further improve their abilities. When they are not on active duty, they spend their time in stasis tubes that rest and recover their bodies, while their minds are plugged into a simulator to practice combat scenarios 24/7.

Mechs

Primary Faction(s): The Eden Empire, The Federation of Science, and The Galactic Alliance.

For a time, the trench-covered and blood-soaked battlefields of the Great Eden War saw hundreds of medium and large mechanized vehicles. They proved cost-inefficient over time as the war turned to space battles and shipboarding parties.

Weapons

Personal firearms in the Chronicles of Eden universe are extremely deadly and can be broken down into 4 major categories:

Kinetic Weapons

Classic firearms tend to use good ol' gunpowder and explosives. Used heavily by most human armed forces until after the establishment of the United Authority.

AVG-60 Rifle

Primary Faction(s): The Galactic Alliance (and later the Coalition)

The AVG-60 is the updated version of the AVG-30 and has seen extensive use within the Coalition military. It holds 60 rounds and can fire semi-auto, 3-round-burst, or full-auto, depending on the soldier's preference and features a grenade launcher under the barrel.

Tag Launcher

Primary Factions: The Eden Empire, The Coalition

This portable rocket launcher is known for its ability to launch a tag dart at the enemy. Once an enemy is hit, the operator can fire a barrage of mini smart rockets that will zoom around cover and head towards the dart. Only the most armored vehicles stand a chance against this deadly weapon.

Flamespewer

Primary Factions: The Eden Empire, later The Coalition

The unconventional flamethrower was brought back by some ship-raiding crews initially as a scare tactic. Eventually, some soldiers found them useful in flushing out rooms within capital ships as well as blinding enemies, giving their comrades the ability to shoot them without fear of enemy fire. The flame, on average, can reach past 100 feet.

Brute-class Chain Gun

Primary Factions: The Eden Empire, The Galactic Alliance, The Federation of Science (later The Coalition)


This weapon is exclusive to those who wear exo-suits. With a bullet capacity of over 10,000, the operator can offer covering fire for an extreme amount of time before needing to reload. This gun offers a firing rate of over 5,000 rounds a minute.

Vertbow

Primary Faction: Survivors


The vertbow is a modified crossbow rifle with the capability to fire a variety of bolts. It can hold a clip of up to 10 bolts at a time. In the hands of a skilled archer, the vertbow is an excellent weapon.

Revshot

Primary Faction: The Galactic Alliance, Survivors


This revolver is extremely reliable and powerful. It can hold up to 8 shots. It is known for its ability to hold shotgun shells in its second barrel, which can be charged and used by pulling the secondary hammer back. This makes it a very versatile weapon for anyone who needs to defend themselves at close range.

K-4 Shot-Blaster

Primary Faction: The Four-Houses/The CDP

The shot-blast is a modified design of an old shotgun. Intended for short-range combat, this gun can shoot a variety of ammunition types, from scattershot BBs, slugs, and even energy blast rounds.

Mega-Class Grenade Launcher

Primary Faction: The Four-Houses/The CDP

The standard anti-armor weapon used by CDP forces. It can hold 8 massive grenades that can punch through most armor that anyone would come across. One downside is that it is quite difficult to carry and reload due to its weight.

Charge Weapons

This category includes magnetic and electronically charged firearms.


Sonic Blast-gun

Primary Factions: The Federation of Science (and later The Coalition)

This new-age shotgun has seen plenty of use in close-quarters combat, particularly with ship-raiding crews. Instead of firing shells or slugs, the blast-gun fires a sonic blast that can knock soldiers off their feet at medium range, while at close range it can penetrate armor and break bones.

I-3 Charged Beam Rifle

Primary Faction: The Federation of Science, Survivors


This sniper rifle comes from the Great Eden War and saw wide use throughout it. This weapon uses batteries to power each shot. When fired, this rifle emits a continuous red laser for as long as the trigger is being held or until the battery runs out. This feature makes the rifle very useful for tracking and hitting moving targets but also reveals the sniper to enemies.

VZ-6 E-Mag Rifle

Primary Faction: The Eden Empire

This advanced magnetic rail rifle is common among Imperial Infantry forces. Projectiles are shot at roughly 4,000 miles per hour (6437 kmh) or 5867 feet per second (1788 mps).

XR-5 Gauss Rifle

Primary Faction: The Federation of Science

This electromagnetic gauss rifle uses a charged coil to launch projectiles at 3,000 miles per hour (4828 kmh) or 4400 feet per second (1341 mps). This weapon is common among Federation Special Forces.

4XL Heavy Rail Rifle

Primary Factions: The Federation of Science, The Eden Empire, The Galactic Alliance (later The Coalition)

Too large for the average soldier to carry, this rifle was issued to many of the Federation's exo-suit soldiers. It uses an advanced rail system to fire 9 inch metal spikes at insane velocities, capable of penetrating almost anything except the strongest tanks.

Fling Rifle

Primary Faction: Survivors


The fling rifle is a homemade weapon that uses two mechanical arms and magnets to reach back and fling the ammo one at a time with each trigger pull. While it is made to shoot saw blades, it can be further modified to fire a variety of ammo types, even rocks. Because of this, it is an excellent weapon for any scavenger in the wasteland.

Edenium Weapons

Edenium weapons, as the name suggests, use charged Edenium crystals to fire. Edenium crystals are charged with neutrons in a power pack magazine. When the magazine is inserted into the weapon, a hyper-focused laser beam is shot from the back of the weapon and through the exposed Edenium crystal, producing a light-speed projectile with high damage, pinpoint accuracy, and no recoil.


I-11 Bolt Rifle

Primary Faction(s): The United Authority, Cybers and Remnant, The Resistance

The I-11 Bolt Rifle is the standard firearm of the Nano-Troopers. It includes a double trigger for the troopers to use their pointer and middle fingers to fire bolts with extreme speed. There is also an Ark attachment on the under barrel, allowing the trooper to program micro-explosive bolts to fire in an arc, allowing them to take out enemies hiding behind cover.

I-5 Blast Rifle

Primary Faction: The United Authority, Cybers

This assault sniper rifle fires by projecting a small laser to line up the shot for about half a second before expanding to a full 6 inches in diameter, capable of punching through 3 feet of solid matter. Physical cover is nearly useless against this rifle.

BD-23 Zooka

Primary Faction: The United Authority, Cybers

The BD-23 takes a few seconds to charge up before launching a small white ball of light that increases in speed and size the longer it travels. It is capable of taking out a small building or completely destroying an armored vehicle. It can also be disassembled into smaller parts for ease of transport.

AM-12 Scatter gun

Primary Faction: The United Authority

This modified laser shotgun fires 5 small lasers with every trigger pull. Whatever matter the laser touches then begins to disintegrate. One of the 5 lasers is capable of taking down the average soldier. A well-placed shot is a guaranteed kill.

I-7 Laser Pistol

Primary Faction: The United Authority, Cybers, The Resistance

This Edenium laser Pistol is standard issue for UA Troopers and common among resistance fighters.

Plasma Weapons

These weapons use packs of super-heated gas and shoot condensed balls of plasma at nearly 7,000 degrees Fahrenheit. These weapons have lower recoil and high damage compared to kinetic weapons but tend to overheat quickly when fired for extended periods. These weapons usually allow the operator to adjust the amount of plasma that is dispensed with each shot.

The High energy release from each shot results in a small explosive effect as it disintegrates surrounding tissue before quickly dissipating. Most who don't die immediately from a plasma blast will go into shock and succumb to their wounds shortly thereafter.

Winterston Mk II

Primary Faciton: The Four-Houses/The CDP

The plasma rifle, successor to the Mk I, saw a lot of use in the Confederate Revolution. The Winterston Mk II battle rifle is the standard issue rifle for any soldier of the CDP. Using plasma packs, this rifle shoots super-heated gas in the form of a plasma ball. When hooked into the helmet of a CDP soldier, they can see an infrared laser that extends from the barrel to whatever they are pointing at, assisting with aiming. 


Plasma Pistol

Primary Faciton: The Four-Houses/The CDP

Common sidearm within the Four Houses. The barrel breaks open to load a new plasma cylinder. The shots are explosive but the firearm overheats quickly.


Vehicles and Turrets

While many battles take place with starships and infantry, ground vehicles still play a significant part in galactic warfare.


Edenium Hover Tank

Primary Faction: The United Authority

Able to be operated with only a driver and a gunner, this compact hover tank is a bit slow but makes up for it by being extremely durable against most weaponry. Armed with an anti-armor turret and two anti-personnel cannons, this vehicle is a force to be reckoned with.

ROM Mk III

Primary Faction(s): The Confederacy of Dependent Planets, The Resistance

Reinforced Omnidirectional Motor-vehicle

Omniskid rover technology was created in 2600. The chassis of such a vehicle is suspended above four wheels, each equipped with its own dedicated motor. Unlike traditional wheels, omniskid wheels are similar to mecanum wheels, with rollers mounted at a 45-degree angle to the wheel axis. Each wheel can be rotated independently to achieve omnidirectional movement. The rollers are extremely durable and can be individually locked and unlocked as needed depending on the terrain. These features allow an omniskid rover to have superior maneuverability compared to traditional grounded vehicles, as they allow one to accelerate sideways, rotate, or move in any direction.

Mounted atop each ROM Mk III are two manned rotating turrets that can fire up to 600 armor-piercing rounds a minute. While more lightly armored than an Edenium hover tank, they make up for it in speed and maneuverability.

Saturn Mortar

Primary Faction(s): The United Authority, Cybers

The Saturn mortar was designed for advanced city defenses against invaders. With a mechanized reloading system established below each launcher pad, the Saturn mortar can fire all of its rockets, lower itself to reload, and be prepared to fire its next barrage within a matter of 20 seconds.

The standard Saturn mortar holds 20 Saturn missiles per box. Each missile is strong enough to pierce most armor and kill any soldier it lands near, but when all 20 missiles are launched at the same area, almost nothing can survive.

Laser Flak


Primary Faction(s): The United Authority, Cybers

This massive double-barrel turret's primary function is to deter and repel enemy air forces and drop ships. Firing super-heated Edenium shells at hypersonic speeds, these are best avoided if possible.

Melee Weapons

In a universe where most people wage war with guns and starships, it is rare, but not unheard of, for combatants to use melee weapons in close quarters.

Edenium Sword

Primary Faction(s): The Eden Empire, The Federation of Science, and The Galactic Alliance (and later the Coalition)

Often issued to captains within the Eden Empire, this sword is more for show than for actual combat. However, if needed, it is an extremely useful close-quarters weapon. It utilizes a variety of Eden resources that allow it to heat up to 1000 degrees Celsius (1832 degrees Fahrenheit) without breaking. When activated, they often emit a greenish glow. The Eden battery within the hilt allows the sword to self-charge and be used over and over again. 

Brute Blade

Primary Faction(s): The Eden Empire, The Federation of Science, and The Galactic Alliance.

This massive sword was issued to exo-suit wearers for when they ran out of ammo. Too heavy to be wielded by someone without an exo-suit, these swords are extremely powerful in the right hands. Able to cut or smash through a soldier with full body armor.
