Starships are staples of any good sci-fi series. The Chronicles of Eden is no different.
Note: All hand-drawn schematics are 2nd Draft Concept Art based on sketches from 2010. They are not drawn to scale and may be subject to change.
The largest ships that make up a fleet. These vessels require a sizeable crew to operate and often hold hundreds to thousands of soldiers.
Length: ~250 m
These frigates are the smallest class of warship. They are much faster and more maneuverable than their larger counterparts but do not fair very well against larger ships. Their weaponry is designed to take out groups of fighters.
Length: ~500 m
Larger than standard frigates and therefore not as maneuverable. They are equipped with multiple torpedo turrets in order to take out other warships They are vulnerable to bombers, but a few of them can destroy an entire space station.
Length: ~750 m–1 km
The most powerful of warships. They are relatively slow but can take a severe beating before they are destroyed. Their weaponry makes short work of small groups of fighters as well as other warships. They are also capable of devastating orbital bombardments.
Length: ~1 km+
The largest classes of warship. When sending large amounts of fighters, bombers, and dropships across the galaxy, the carrier is a necessity. Some carriers are even known to support smaller capital ships in transit.
Fighters are used in zero-g environments and in planetary atmospheres to overwhelm the opponent or escort other ships in the fleet. There are 5 fighter classes:
The base starfighter class. Well balanced speed, armor, and weaponry. Good for dogfighting in space and atmosphere.
Lightly armored but highly maneuverable. Good for scouting and smaller skirmishes.
Heavily armed and armored. Slightly slower than starfighters. Good for escorts. Strong against light fighters and bombers.
Less armored than starfighters, but the fastest class. Best used against enemy bombers.
Slower and stronger than their fighter counterparts, often requireing an escort of fighters to be properly utilized. Used to take out warships and enemy positions.
The vertical starifgher was designed during the Great Eden War. These fighters rotate their orientation when taking off and landing. They are quick and easy to maneuver.
Constructed on hidden ship factories by the Cyber Resistance, these ships are quite fast and most effectively used for hit-and-run tactics.
Used by the Confederacy of Dependent Planets, these rocket fighters are extremely fast but not the most maneuverable.
Designed with a retro appearance inspired by WW1 planes, these starfighters are slower than their opposition, but make up for it with heavier armor and larger payloads. They maneuver better in atmosphere than other fighters.
Used by the Eden Empire, these fighters are well balanced in speed and armor, with extremely powerful weapons.
Length: ~25m
Used to transport soldiers from orbit to the ground and all over the battlefield. Each faction has their own version with various speeds armor and troop capacity.
