2870 Est. Population: ~3,000,000,000

Mars was the next place to be colonized, in 2050. Those stationed on the planet worked on harvesting iron and water beneath the planet's surface in order to send back to Earth. Much work has been done to reestablish a stronger atmosphere for the planet.

Venus

Diameter: 7,520 miles

2870 Est. Population: ~30,000,000

Venus was colonized in 2065 after a collision event caused the planet to obtain its moon. Those that inhabit the solar cities above the planet's surface use advanced technology to harvest iron and other precious metallic ores from the volcanic surface, along with hydrogen and helium gases.

The Belt

Diameter: ~92,000,000 miles (1 AU)

2870 Est. Population: Unknown (~500,000,000-2,000,000,000)

Earth sent multiple ships to the Asteroid belt in 2080 in order to harvest a multitude of substances for Earth, such as water, iron, silver, and gold. The miners were successful and established multiple stations throughout the belt, harvesting as many resources as possible.

Jupiter's Moons

Planetary Diameter: 86,881 miles

2870 Est. Population: ~50,000,000

Some of Jupiter's largest moons were colonized in 2121 to harvest any water and precious metals below their surface. Stations were set up for permanent colonization and work. Many who were sent were prisoners serving life sentences for various crimes.

Saturn's Rings and Moons

Diameter: ~175,000 miles

2870 Est. Population: ~100,000,000

Saturn's rings and moons have been used to send precious materials back to Earth since 2121. Those who were sent there established permanent living quarters throughout the largest asteroids in the rings and send shipments of resources back to Earth every 3 years.

Solaris

Diameter: 44 miles

2870 Est. Population: ~4,000,000

Launched in 2200 AD, Solaris is the largest space station in the Sol System. It is located a few million miles from the Sun and is used to charge solar-powered batteries and send them back to Earth. Due to the heavy amount of radiation that the station was exposed to in its early days, the first workers on the station were prisoners. That changed in the 2250s as radiation shields became more effective.

Eden Sector

Estimated Population in 2870 AD (Pre-Blackout): ~16,195,000,000

Primary Language: Unitan

The Eden Sector is a binary star system that was discovered in 2345 AD and is home to many resource-rich planets. The consequences of Eden have been both beneficial and catastrophic for mankind.

Eden

Diameter: 8,000 miles

2870 Est. Population: ~7,000,000,000

A planet so abundant in resources and minerals that it could have been made of gold. The discovery of Eden and the Eden sector in 2345 marked a turning point in human technological advancement. Along with the planet came the discovery of multiple new elements and energy sources, specifically Edenium crystals.

The planet is orbited by a man-made halo-class ring station known as Garden Station, which spans the circumference of the planet and serves as Eden’s Stardock and the refinery for all the raw Edenium and resources from the planet below.

Gemini Major

Diameter: 10,842 miles

2870 Est. Population: ~5,000,000,000

Gemini Major is within very close proximity to Gemini Minor. Labeled a land giant, this massive grassy planet houses multiple forms of livestock for mankind. It also has very nutritious soil that is used to grow a variety of crops. The planet is primarily used to grow food for Earth and many of the human colonies.

Gemini Minor

Diameter: 4,120 miles

2870 Est. Population: ~5,000,000

Labeled a gas dwarf, Gemini Minor is within very close proximity to Gemini Major and supplies humanity with multiple precious gasses used for fuel and other industrial needs. Those who inhabit the planet live out their lives on floating cloud cities within the dense atmosphere, performing research and harvesting gasses.

Arkadia

Diameter: 4,211 miles

2870 Est. Population: ~4,000,000,000

Arkadia is a large water world with only one 300-mile-wide mountain tall enough to penetrate the surface. Humanity constructed multiple platform cities that float on the surface of the world sea.

Those on Arkadia are either esteemed aristocrats that live on the mountain, or lowly workers, stuck on the platforms. The factories on these platforms purify billions of gallons of water to be sent to Earth and the other colonies where it is needed.

Jericho

Diameter: 6,731 miles

2870 Est. Population: ~150,000,000

Primary Language: Unitan

Secondary Languages: Hebrew, English, Greek, Aramaic, Latin, and other ancient languages

For a while, Jericho was referred to as “New Earth.” This was because the planet was similar to Earth in nearly every way except for the existence of intelligent life. The atmosphere is breathable, the soil is nutrient-rich, and the freshwater is drinkable.

This world is the promised land of the Jericho people, a neo-Abrahamic religious faction within Chronicles of Eden. The planet is largely self-reliant due to its abundance of natural resources.

Zaphyre

Diameter: 5,693 miles

2870 Est. Population: ~40,000,000

Zaphyre is another astrological anomaly. From the outside, it has the appearance of a barren rock. The pressure in the atmosphere is strong and unstable, making starship entry difficult. Atmospheric pressure stabilizes as you go into the planet's crust, to the point of habitability. Further analysis found the planet to be coreless.

Due to the unstable atmospheric pressure conditions, the only way on or off the planet is by way of a massive elevator that extends from orbit down past the crust and into the mantle. Within the planet are countless amounts of precious crystals and minerals that are either studied by scientists or mined by criminals serving life sentences and shipped off-world.

The Ios System

Estimated Population in 2870 AD (Pre-Blackout): 3,180,000,000
